I can't wait to see it! Just a reminder, as a faithful CBS Sunday morning viewer, it airs from 8-9:30 in Alabama. I'm going to set me DVR now!

Thank you for posting this. It's good to know that there are other people out there who know that emotional pain is not as dangerous as many psychologists and LCSW's are making it appear to be. This message deserves to be spread abroad the field of psychiatry and psychotherapy. If mental health issues do indeed arise from emotions turned inward, modern treatment for mental illness is doing the opposite of good, for the most part.

Again, thank you.

They say that someone who has a negative experience tells 20 people, which your post perfectly illustrates. Listening is one key part of building a lifelong relationship, personal or professional.

I am sure the info is great, but in this economy not many organizations can allocate this for training. Is there any discounts offered?

Good article. Particularly in times of lean budgets, proration, etc., staffing reductions are often inevitable. Waiting to the last minute to deal with it often leads to poor transition of work from the individual(s) leaving to remaining staff. Planning ahead for potential staffing reductions can lead to a more organized transition and possibly to effective process improvement to reduce the workload impact on remaining staff.

Communicating is essential, especially when staffing reductions are inevitable. Letting folks know that you care is important. If you fail to recognize the impact on remaining staff, you are likely to lose your better performers as well. Letting everyone know that you have a plan and are open to feedback/ideas can often lead to creative solutions and improved (or at least level) workforce morale.

Bottom line: don't skip steps above and keep lines of communication open.

This is a very good project. Although its only one day. By the end of the day, hopefully the students have gained a lot of information that will ready them for college.
