Executives and other downtown Birmingham office workers will soon have an additional fitness center option as Adeptio sets up shop in the former Belk store.
The space at Regions Harbert Plaza is 18,615 square feet, according to The Birmingham News, and has been vacant since 2008. They got rid of the clothing racks and counters, but left the crown molding and gorgeous spiral staircase.
Bryan Reed and Rodney Fulmer are co-owners of Adeptio, which is set to open in January at a time that many people are setting weight-loss goals for the new year.
Reed would not share the number of memberships sold, but said the process is going well. Charter memberships will cost a one-time fee of $3,500 for individuals and $4,750 for husbands and wives. They can be transferred, which allows companies to provide them as a benefit for employees, if they’re so inclined.
Regular pre-sale memberships will cost $95 a month for individuals and $120 for couples. Raise will rise after the fitness center opens in January. These prices include regular services, and other options, such as personal training and massage therapy, are available for an additional fee.
We’re curious: Is this a service you could see yourself taking advantage of? Or are you pretty content with your current gym?
